{"id":1212,"date":"2021-06-14T18:34:55","date_gmt":"2021-06-14T18:34:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.disclosureafrica.co.za\/?p=1212"},"modified":"2021-06-20T11:04:48","modified_gmt":"2021-06-20T11:04:48","slug":"5-tips-to-improve-online-coaching","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.disclosureafrica.co.za\/?p=1212","title":{"rendered":"5 Tips to improve Online Coaching"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div style=\"height:16px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Coaching is evolving.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ve all needed to adapt to our new reality.&nbsp;&nbsp;Working from home and new experiences like on-line meetings, pet interruptions and child cameos have been the norm.&nbsp;&nbsp;How did we cope with the challenges?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.disclosureafrica.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/image.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1220\" width=\"539\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.disclosureafrica.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/image.png 358w, https:\/\/www.disclosureafrica.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/image-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 539px) 100vw, 539px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Necessity is the mother of invention.&nbsp;<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>We turned to technology to help us connect, work, and collaborate.&nbsp;&nbsp;Coaching is no different.&nbsp;&nbsp;Coaching works on building a trust relationship, and many people found that its more convenient to meet remotely, but they are easily distracted than when they meet in person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tips to improve your on-line coaching experience:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Minimize distractions.<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"74\" height=\"74\" src=\"https:\/\/www.disclosureafrica.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Cellphone-Image1-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1260\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Use a private, comfortable space where you can talk openly.&nbsp;&nbsp;Deal with distractions before the session, like moving pets to the back yard or asking the child-minder to take the little ones out for a treat.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:7px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Get good equipment.<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"74\" height=\"74\" src=\"https:\/\/www.disclosureafrica.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/GoodRouter-Image2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1261\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Make sure you have a good internet connection, or a back-up when things go wrong.&nbsp;&nbsp;Test your phone or tablet as&nbsp;an alternative.&nbsp;&nbsp;A good quality camera reduces distortion that cause visual distractions. Check your load-shedding schedule.&nbsp;&nbsp;Load-shedding and technical problems have been the bane of effective meetings since we\u2019ve moved online, where possible set-up your connection in advance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:9px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Use the right medium.<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"74\" height=\"74\" src=\"https:\/\/www.disclosureafrica.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/TabletPC-Image3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1262\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Flexibility is key, people may be travelling or attending a personal event before or after the session.
